Job summary
Our client, a growing and well-regarded Vancouver law firm, is seeking a Legal Assistant / Paralegal to join their family law practice. This is a hybrid legal support role, ideal for someone with strong family law experience who enjoys a mix of Legal Assistant and Paralegal responsibilities. The Role This position supports lawyers in a busy family law practice and involves both administrative and substantive legal tasks. The firm operates in a highly client-focused environment and values professionalism, empathy, and strong attention to detail. Key Responsibilities Providing exceptional client service via phone, email, and in-person interactions Managing client communications and inquiries Drafting and transcribing correspondence and legal documents Assisting with family law pleadings, forms, and supporting documentation Filing documents with applicable court registries and managing court calendars File opening, maintenance, diarization, and document organization Daily time entries, monthly billing, and assisting with A/R follow-up Attending in-office meetings for document review and signing General administrative and practice support as required Qualifications 3–5 years of experience as a Legal Assistant, ideally with family law exposure Strong understanding of family law procedures and court processes Excellent written and verbal communication skills High level of organization with strong attention to detail and follow-through Comfortable working in a hybrid support role with evolving responsibilities Ability to work independently while collaborating closely with lawyers and team members Compensation & Benefits Competitive salary range of $70,000 – $78,000 Legal Assistants.
