Job summary

Our Calgary client, located in the Mission area, is currently seeking an experienced Junior Family Law Paralegal to join their team on a temporary basis for approximately six weeks. This position is ideal for a self-sufficient professional who can step into a busy practice, manage files independently, and provide support with the preparation and filing of family law documents. The successful candidate will have an understanding of family law procedures, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision. Responsibilities Prepare, draft, and revise family law documentation and court forms. Manage and maintain family law files throughout various stages of the legal process. File court documents and ensure compliance with applicable deadlines and procedural requirements. Coordinate and organize client files, correspondence, and supporting documentation. Communicate with lawyers, court personnel, clients, and third parties as required. Review documents for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with court and firm standards. Maintain accurate electronic and physical records. Assist with document management and file organization within the firm's systems. Provide additional administrative and paralegal support as required during the assignment. Requirements 1 year + of paralegal experience, with a strong focus on family law. Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage files with limited supervision. Understanding of family law processes, court procedures, and document preparation requirements. Experience preparing and filing legal documents with Alberta courts. Proficiency with CAMS, Adobe Acrobat, and Microsoft Office Suite. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Excellent written and verbal communication abilities. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced legal environment. Professional, reliable, and able to maintain confidentiality at all times.
