The Opportunity Prepare and file Canadian trademark applications; Review correspondence from CIPO and foreign associates and prepare clear reporting letters to clients; Conduct trademark searches using the Canadian trademark database and common law sources to assess registrability and availability, and draft related search reports; Draft and report on responses to Examiner’s Reports from CIPO; Maintain, organize, and update docketing records and deadlines; Support senior agents and lawyers with Canadian and foreign opposition and expungement proceedings; Assist with file management, electronic filing/spiking, pre-bills, and precedent maintenance; and Contribute to other trademark and administrative tasks as needed. What You Will Bring 5+ years of experience as a trademark clerk, paralegal, or searcher; Postsecondary education; Progress toward a Class 3 license as a Registered Canadian Trademark Agent in Training issued by CPATA is an asset; Exceptional attention to detail; Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities; Confidence managing deadlines in a fast-paced professional environment; Excellent written and verbal communication skills; Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal docketing software, preferably PATTSY; and Bilingualism in French and English is an asset, but not required. The starting salary range for this position is $60,000 to $70,000, with compensation determined based on experience, qualifications, and demonstrated expertise in trademark practice.
