The Supervisor, Corporate Services will play an integral role in the support functions and the daily operations of the Corporate Services Department.

Essential Responsibilities (supervisory duties)

• Supervises the daily operations including work distribution, delegation and resource planning
• Leads and directs the work of others and monitors the overall workflow
• Supervises quality control measures of the work product
• Coordinates department vacation schedules and assists with staffing and recruitment
• Monitors and provides feedback on paralegal performance evaluations
• Assists with identifying the needs for technical training and mentoring
• Acts as a coach and mentor and develops others
• Develops and supports a positive department image and culture
• Participates on the Athennian Project team and is a mentor and champion of the Athennian Platform
• Facilitates special projects in response to firm initiatives
• Takes initiative and evaluates the efficiency of certain work processes and procedures and makes suggestions to improve quality and efficiency
• Oversees the central corporate records library and filing system

Additional administrative responsibilities as needed

• Essential Responsibilities (Paralegal duties)
• Prepares, drafts and/or oversees completion of corporate legal documentation, including incorporations, amendments, amalgamations, continuances, dissolutions, corporate and tax reorganizations and other relevant transaction and compliance documentation
• Conducts due diligence reviews and other minute book reviews
• Assists with preparing closing agendas
• Coordinates closing documentation, searches, attends closing, reports on other matters for the transaction
• Assists with the preparation of checklists and precedents
• Ensures compliance with relevant statutory requirements and provides input on corporate compliance matters
• Maintains the integrity of all record keeping and database systems
• Maintains and enhances legal technical knowledge by attending and providing professional development seminars and workshops
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Significant knowledge of corporate law and a Paralegal diploma from an accredited University or College program or equivalent
• Progressive experience working as a Paralegal in corporate law in a leadership position
• Excellent client service skills
• Ability to ensure accuracy, attention to detail and meet deadlines
• Demonstrated ability to exercise initiative, use judgement, make decisions and accept responsibility effectively
• Communicates in a clear and precise manner
