Who are we looking for?

We are currently seeking a Business Intelligence, Information and Data Manager for our IT department. The Business Intelligence, Information and Data Manager’s role is to plan, coordinate, and supervise all activities related to the design, development, and implementation of organizational reporting and analytics. This role will supervise numerous data systems including organizing, storing, and analyzing company data as professionally and effectively as possible while also safeguarding security and confidentiality standards and coordinating and managing the flow of data.

Qualifications:

5+ years experience as Business Intelligence & Data Manager

5+ years experience in data analysis and business intelligence

5+ years experience with Microsoft Business Intelligence & Analytics Stack including Power BI, Azure Synapse Analytics, Tableau, Cognos etc.

5+ years experience with direct people management

Requires Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Business or similar

Experience in business data modeling, metadata structure and business subject areas for key business processes

Experience of successful and effective application systems leadership, project management, preferably within BI, data warehouse and ERP systems

Experience with Enterprise Content Management (ECM) and Document Management (DM) systems

Proficient in Microsoft Office and industry-related databases and web applications

Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

Attention to detail

Ability to decipher and organize large amounts of data.

Big Data / Cloud (AWS or Azure) experience an asset

CBIP (Certified Business Intelligence Professional), or CDP (Certified Data Professional) Certification or equivalent is an asset

Responsibilities:

Responsible for maintaining, supporting, and upgrading reports, dashboards, cubes, and data warehouse

Writing reports and presentations that present data and findings in a clear and concise manner

Advocating for business intelligence solutions that will help the organization meet its goals

Coordinating with technology vendors to ensure that new systems are compatible with existing systems

Analyzing data to identify patterns or trends that could indicate problems within the business

Working with senior management to develop goals, objectives, and strategies for improving business performance using BI tools

Recommending changes to existing business intelligence processes or policies to improve efficiency

Developing reports that monitor key business metrics such as customer satisfaction levels or inventory levels

Working with vendors to implement new systems or tools as needed

Monitoring industry trends to identify upcoming challenges or opportunities for the organization

Develop and implement procedures for effective data management. Create rules and procedures for data sharing.

Oversee and manage staff members in the daily use of data systems.

Manage the Business Intelligence and Data Analyst, including overseeing the hiring and training

Guarantee adherence to legal and company regulations. Regularly monitor and evaluate information and data systems that could affect analytical results.

Assist with recognizing and upholding digital security systems to protect delicate information.

Assess system performance and make recommendations for software, hardware, and data storage improvements.

Manage all incoming data files.

Continually develop data management strategies.
