Role

  • Write, transcribe and proofread legal and contract documents
  • Manage external requests, claims and insurance certificates
  • Process third party and vendor invoices
  • File, organize, scan, manage, copy, and fax legal documents in a timely manner
  • Answer phone calls, take notes/messages and redirect calls when appropriate
  • Facilitate the meeting of deadlines by keeping multiple agendas and provide timely reminder

  • Ability to manage several requests and files at the same time (multitasking)
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Good oral and written communication, English and French
  • Ability to work in a team, as a team player
  • Strong organizational skills and autonomy

Requirements

  • 3+ years' experience as a legal secretary
  • Familiarity with legal documents and terminology
  • Working knowledge of litigation management software systems
  • Ability to type with a speed of at least 50 wpm with high accuracy
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs
  • Able to effectively prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Able to work as a team with attorneys and other colleagues
  • Demonstrate a courteous and professional demeanor
  • Superior written and oral communication skills in both English and French
  • Transport/logistic experience is an asset
  • Knowledge of contract and claims management as asset
