What's the job?

Reporting directly to the Vice President of Human Resources and Legal Affairs the Paralegal will act as a strong pillar within the team to continuously improve our internal processes and ensure proper conservation of all legal documents. Literally the right arm of her/his VP, the Paralegal will take ownership of the document production and conservation for Franchisee Disclosures, Franchise Agreements, client contracts, etc.

Major Accountabilities

  • First review of legal documents such as client contracts and service agreements.
  • Support the administration team in ensuring deadlines are met and proper conservation of all legal / HR documents.
  • Preparation and ownership of the processes to produce and execute Franchise Disclosure Documents (FDDs) and Franchise Agreements (FAs).
  • Conduct legal research, when necessary.
  • Drafting / Review of default letters and in charge of managing the relationship with an outsourcing partner.
  • Data entry in homemade database.
  • Continuous process improvement in all steps of the creation, execution and conservation of our legal documents.


  • Relevant training to the function of paralegal as well  as a  minimum  of  5 years  of experience in a similar position.
  • Exceptional drafting skills in both French and English.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Adaptable and resourceful.
  • Strong stress tolerance and ability to multi-task.
  • Independence and ability to work without close supervision.
  • Strong computer literacy including effective working skills of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Google etc.
  • Prior knowledge in Franchise law would be an asset.
