Job Scope 

  • Administrative support for the Legal Department, such as outside counsel bill management, ordering supplies and software licenses, scheduling attorney meetings and coordinating travel and organizing and maintaining the company's DMS and docketing systems. 
  • Transactional support, such as drafting contracts and corporate resolutions and maintaining and updating corporate minute books, assist with SEC and SEDAR filings and compliance, M&A, corporate governance, securities and board administration matters. 
  • Litigation support, including document review, bates stamping and production, drafting and responding to discovery requests, subpoenas, ECF filings, and ESI searches.  
  • Research support, assist with legal research and analysis of statutes, case law, law review articles, etc.  
  • Advanced knowledge of Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Westlaw/Lewis, and Legaltracker. 
  • Position will interact with in-house and outside attorneys and brand unit constituents 

Essential Education, Experience and Attributes 

  • 4-7 years' experience as a Paralegal or Attorney Executive Assistant 
  • Undergraduate degree 
  • Fluent in English and French 

Desirable Education, Experience and Attributes 

  • Law firm and/or corporate legal department experience 
  • Familiarity with Canadian and US law 
  • Bachelor's Degree in Paralegal Studies or related field 
  • Certified through the Paralegal Advanced Competency Exam (PACE) by the National Federation of Paralegal Associations or Legal Assistant/Certified Paralegal Exam by the National Association of Legal Assistants network
