About the Company Our client, a leading Canadian law firm, is seeking an experienced Litigation Law Clerk to join their growing litigation team. Responsibilities Assist lawyers with all aspects of litigation files from commencement through to trial and appeal Prepare, review and organize legal documents, correspondence and court materials Draft pleadings, affidavits, motion materials, notices and other litigation documents Prepare and manage productions, affidavits of documents and documentary discovery materials Assist with examinations for discovery, mediations, arbitrations, motions, pre-trials and trials Prepare undertakings and refusals charts and assist with the management of undertakings Coordinate and manage court filings and service of documents Prepare hearing and trial briefs, books of authorities and other court materials Maintain and organize electronic and physical litigation files Track deadlines, limitation periods, court dates and other key milestones Communicate professionally with clients, opposing counsel, courts and other third parties Assist lawyers with legal research and fact gathering as required Manage multiple files and priorities in a fast-paced environment Provide additional litigation and administrative support as required Requirements 5+ years of experience as a Litigation Law Clerk Experience supporting lawyers on complex litigation matters Strong knowledge of the Rules of Civil Procedure and Ontario court processes Experience preparing and managing pleadings, motion materials, discoveries and trial materials Excellent organizational and time management skills with strong attention to detail Ability to independently manage files and prioritize multiple deadlines Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal document management systems Experience with e-discovery and electronic document management is an asset Excellent written and verbal communication skills Professional and personable with the ability to work effectively with lawyers, clients and colleagues Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion Proactive, reliable and able to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team Compensation Salary up to $110,000, commensurate with experience Hybrid work schedule with 3 days per week in the office Opportunity to work on sophisticated and complex litigation matters with a leading legal team We do not use AI to screen candidates.
