Paralegal - Accident Benefits Location: Toronto, ON Job Type: Full-Time Practice Area: Personal Injury / Accident Benefits Job Summary A plaintiff-side personal injury law firm in Toronto is seeking an experienced Paralegal to support lawyers with personal injury and accident benefits matters. The ideal candidate will have experience managing litigation files, coordinating with clients and third parties, preparing legal documentation, and assisting with matters from file opening through resolution. Responsibilities Assist lawyers with the management of personal injury and accident benefits files from inception through resolution. Coordinate client meetings, examinations for discovery, mediations, and other appointments. Maintain accurate calendars and diarize key deadlines, limitation dates, examinations, hearings, and filing requirements. Prepare and organize legal documents, correspondence, court forms, disclosure materials, and other file documentation. Assist with discovery preparation, including organizing documents and preparing responses to undertakings. Obtain and organize medical records, accident benefits documentation, insurance information, and other supporting evidence. Communicate with clients, insurance companies, medical providers, opposing counsel, and other parties as directed by the lawyer. Assist with settlement preparation and maintain organized settlement documentation. Conduct document review and ensure files are complete and up to date. Maintain accurate electronic and physical files in accordance with firm procedures. Provide general litigation and administrative support to lawyers as required. Qualifications Previous experience as a Paralegal in personal injury, accident benefits, or civil litigation is preferred. Strong understanding of Ontario personal injury and accident benefits procedures. Experience with litigation files, medical documentation, discovery, and legal correspondence. Excellent organizational and time-management skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills. High attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to manage multiple files, deadlines, and priorities in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency with legal practice management software, Microsoft Office, and electronic filing/document management systems. Strong client-service skills and ability to work effectively with lawyers and other legal professionals.
