Our client, a dynamic, established and growing company, headquartered in Montreal, is currently seeking a Legal Counsel - Regulatory and Compliance to join their existing team. This unique position can be fully remote. This lawyer will report to the Manager, Legal Affairs and be an integral member of the legal team and work on interesting and sophisticated files. Candidates should have approximately 3-5 years of pertinent experience in regulatory matters, compliance, drafting and negotiating commercial agreements, and advising re: legal risks. Expertise in the health sector, privacy field and/or the US is considered an asset.
Responsibilities:
· Advise re: Quebec and other Canadian provinces regulatory and compliance matters; · Draft and negotiate a variety of commercial and corporate agreements; · Assist re: corporate reorganization files; · Draft and implement applicable corporate policies; · Assist the operations team with the RFP process; and · Evaluate legal risks and support business units re: various legal needs.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate will:
•Be a lawyer in good standing with the Quebec Bar; •Have approximately 3-5 years of strong regulatory, compliance, and commercial contract expertise; •Be a self-starter and able to work autonomously with minimal supervision; •Have solid business acumen and be an effective team player; •Possess excellent attention to detail, interpersonal skills and professionalism; •Have strong problem-solving abilities and be able to handle competing priorities; •Be bilingual (English and French); •Experience in the healthcare industry and/or the US is considered an asset; and •Experience in privacy law matters is considered an asset.
