About the role
ClearyX is looking for someone with a Law Degree, or equivalent and 3-5 years’ legal work experience in private equity/funds, financial services or investment management (preferably in a corporate legal department or a law firm environment) who will be the subject matter expert for our team. This roles is full time, and fully remote. There may be limited travel requirements for business or client purposes.
Responsibilities · Supporting and leading the development of new models of legal services in the investments/private equity practice area, deploying technology and alternative resources where appropriate. This will involve some process improvement and project management; · Working closely with ClearyX Transaction Managers in a team lead or supervisory capacity, supporting and managing diligence projects across various deal types and subject matters, with a particular focus on private equity transactions; this will include assisting in the review and quality control of documents throughout the M&A diligence process and liaising with deal lawyers and/or clients; · Supporting our growing work for private equity clients, including managing and reviewing documents such as Limited Partner Agreements, Side Letters and other investment related documents; · Identifying and developing client opportunities through business development and marketing activities, leveraging networking opportunities and supporting our marketing leadership to help build our business and position ClearyX as industry leaders and experts; this will include internal networking through practice group and office engagement to stay front of mind and develop relationships with appropriate stakeholders; · Identifying areas to improve how our services are delivered, and seeking out opportunities to build practical solutions that solve problems for our clients including through consultative discussions with clients and prospective clients in the relevant practice areas and industries; · Supporting and advising analysts, technologists and others designing and building our solutions; · Providing subject matter expertise and conducting quality control of relevant work (including designing processes for efficient quality control and process management); · Developing expertise in using legal technology for the review and analysis of legal documents, data room management, and project management; · Supporting the growth of our proprietary software through recommending use cases and demonstrating the opportunities to relevant clients; · Supporting the development of our team of more junior staff, and contributing to a positive, collaborative team culture by modelling ClearyX Values and serving as a mentor and resource for others. Qualifications
· Experience: Law Degree or equivalent, plus 3-5 years of legal experience with significant exposure to investments and private equity related work, clients and structures. · Detail-Oriented: A commitment to producing accurate, consistent, and high-quality work product under fast-moving timelines. · Communication: Excellent written and verbal skills with the professional maturity to act as a trusted liaison for senior leadership and clients. · Tech-Forward: Familiarity with legal tech (VDRs, document management, project management software) and an enthusiasm for adopting new tools and GenAI. · Leadership: Proven ability to mentor junior team members and foster a collaborative, positive team culture.
