This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Bilingual Individual Disability Senior Case Manager based in Canada.

This role offers the opportunity to support individuals through critical moments by managing complex disability and life insurance claims with accuracy, empathy, and professionalism.

You will act as a trusted advisor for policyholders, brokers, medical professionals, and internal stakeholders while ensuring fair and timely claim decisions.

Accountabilities

The Senior Case Manager will be responsible for managing individual disability and life waiver of premium claims while providing exceptional service and ensuring accurate, compliant claim decisions. The role requires collaboration with internal and external partners, strong documentation practices, and the ability to navigate complex cases independently.

Manage ongoing disability claims by gathering and reviewing medical records, financial documentation, investigations, and other relevant information. Evaluate claim eligibility by interpreting policy provisions, exclusions, riders, endorsements, and applicable benefits. Make informed claim decisions and communicate outcomes clearly with policyholders, advisors, brokers, and other stakeholders. Maintain accurate claim files, including detailed documentation of assessments, decisions, and interactions. Review underwriting information, medical history disclosures, and policy details to support effective claim administration. Ensure claim records and reserve calculations are accurately maintained within internal systems. Provide high-quality customer service by addressing inquiries, resolving concerns, and maintaining positive relationships with clients and partners. Collaborate with medical professionals, legal representatives, investigators, and other service providers when required. Apply knowledge of insurance practices, legislation, and industry standards to support fair and consistent claim handling.

Requirements

The ideal candidate brings experience in disability claims management, strong communication skills, and the ability to analyze complex information to make sound decisions. This position requires bilingual communication abilities and confidence working with multiple stakeholders in a remote environment.

University degree in any discipline or equivalent professional experience. 2-3+ years of experience in claims adjudication, preferably within individual disability insurance. Fully bilingual in French and English, with the ability to support clients across different jurisdictions. Strong customer service mindset with proven negotiation and relationship management skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills when interacting with clients, brokers, healthcare providers, legal professionals, and internal teams. Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate conflicting information and make timely decisions. Knowledge of medical terminology, disability-related conditions, and interpretation of medical documentation. Experience reviewing and applying financial documentation and fair claims practices. Understanding of underwriting processes and insurance policy administration. Knowledge of government legislation, insurance regulations, the Insurance Act, and/or Québec Civil Code is considered an asset. Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple tasks, and collaborate effectively within a team environment.
