Specialist/Senior Specialist, Investment Operations (Private Asset Servicing – PAS)
Position Summary
Private Asset Servicing (PAS) supports the end-to-end operational servicing of private and alternative investment portfolios, including private credit, private equity, infrastructure, real estate, and other bespoke investment structures. The team partners closely with Investments, Legal, Accounting, Trade Operations, a dedicated Reconciliations team, administrators, custodians, agents, and external service providers to ensure accurate execution, monitoring, and ongoing servicing of private securities throughout their lifecycle.
This role works is well suited for an individual with a solid foundation in asset servicing, investment operations, middle office, or fund accounting who is comfortable reviewing deal documentation, understanding trade mechanics, coordinating with multiple stakeholders, and investigating complex lifecycle events across private securities.
Key Responsibilities
Support the end-to-end operational lifecycle of assigned private investments, including onboarding, deal closing, funding, ongoing servicing, repayments, interest payments, resets, amendments, restructurings, assignments, transfers, corporate actions, and covenant-related activity. Own or support assigned issuers and assets from deal close through ongoing servicing, ensuring clear accountability for asset-level activity, open items, and required follow-ups. Continue to support client/account ownership responsibilities, including month-end close, position confirmations, reconciliation sign-offs, accounting alignment, and audit support. Review and interpret legal and transaction documents, including credit agreements, confirmations, capital call notices, amendment documents, agent notices, and related documentation, to support accurate operational setup and servicing. Translate key economic and operational terms from legal documentation into operational workflows, system setup, ongoing monitoring, and required servicing actions. Coordinate operational readiness for new deals, including funding requirements, trade setup, account requirements, counterparty details, stakeholder contacts, and required documentation. Ensure assets are created fully and accurately across relevant platforms and records as applicable. Review funding requests, validate key economics, coordinate liquidity checks with the relevant client/account owner, and liaise with stakeholders to support timely execution. Review and help prepare private asset trades and funding activity in IBOR or other applicable systems, ensuring details are complete and accurate for downstream processing. Monitor upcoming activity through relevant reports, trackers, notices, and pipeline reviews to identify required servicing actions in advance. Investigate and resolve cash, position, trade, transaction, income, and static data breaks tagged by the Reconciliations team for assigned assets or accounts. Work with the Reconciliations team to identify root causes, confirm ownership, and ensure breaks are resolved within expected timelines. Support the completeness and accuracy of position, cash, transaction, and security master data across investment, accounting, and servicing platforms. Maintain clear documentation and audit trails supporting operational activity, lifecycle processing, servicing decisions, close deliverables, and key approvals. Liaise with Investment teams, Legal, Accounting, Trade Operations, administrators, custodians, agents, counterparties, and other service providers to support day-to-day servicing of private assets. Partner closely with Investment Accounting during month-end and period-end close to ensure servicing activity is accurately reflected in financial records. Assist with audit requests, internal control reviews, and information requests from stakeholders. Contribute to process improvements, procedure documentation, system enhancements, and control improvements related to private asset servicing. Build deep working knowledge of assigned private asset structures, documentation, system workflows, operational controls, and servicing best practices.
Qualifications & Experience
3+ years of experience in investment operations, asset servicing, middle office, fund accounting, or a related investment operations role, with exposure to private or alternative assets preferred. Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, business, or a related field. CFA, CPA, CAIA are beneficial but not required Strong understanding of trade and servicing lifecycle events for private securities, including deal closing, funding, trade booking, interest and repayment activity, amendments, restructurings, transfers, and ongoing servicing. Experience reviewing and operationalizing legal or transaction documentation is strongly preferred. Exposure to cash, position, trade, transaction, or security master reconciliations is preferred, including investigation and break resolution. Strong attention to detail with a control mindset and focus on data accuracy, completeness, and auditability. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; exposure to Aladdin, WSO, Clearwater, DUCO, Power BI, Power Query, or other data/reporting tools is an asset. Clear communicator, comfortable partnering with Legal, Accounting, Investments, Trade Operations, administrators, custodians, agents, and external service providers. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven, team-based environment and escalate issues with clear recommendations. Curiosity and willingness to build deep subject matter expertise in private asset structures, documentation, controls, and operational best practices.
Salary: 70,000 - 85,000
