 Summary of Duties: Reports to a manager. Investigates, interprets, instructs and negotiates settlement with regard to alleged parking infractions, as they relate to various Municipal By-laws. Facilitate with administrative responses and the scheduling of pre-trial hearings. Provides information and reviews for completeness of trial re-openings and Notice of Motion. Provide in-depth clarification on judicial system, legislation changes and appeal procedures. Perform the duties of the Parking Coordinator in his/her absence where required. Work Performed:

Investigates, interprets, instructs and resolves issues with regard to alleged parking infractions as they relate to various Municipal By-laws. Such responses require vast knowledge of all applicable by-laws and the Provincial Offences Act and Highway Traffic Act.
Assists with administrative investigations of unresolved complaints and provide written response
Performs the duties of the Parking Coordinator in his/her absence and facilitate administratively where required.
Provides information and reviews for completeness of trial re-openings and Notice of Motion for submission to a Justice of The Peace acting in the capacity of Clerk of the Court.
Authorized to cancel, withdraw or refund infractions where justified
Investigates status of NSF cheques and oversee corporate reimbursement with regard to settlement.
Provides written and verbal clarification on judicial system, legislation changes and appeal procedures.
Schedules, completes documentation and notifies defendants of pre-trial hearings.
Directs Provincial Offences Officers daily as to territory requiring enforcement, monitors and operates radio communication base station and maintain radio logbook.
Resolves issues without court intervention, grant extensions of time to pay, respond to judicial issues as they relate to convictions.
Resolves matters relating to disputes on outstanding parking issues at the municipal level.
Responds to complaints through access to Ministry of Transportation and Department of Fine and Control Centre on all matters relating to plate suspension and plate re-instatement.
Researches computer files to determine status of alleged infractions and directs the public as to the various options available to them - includes responding to Ministry of Transportation, Department of Fine and Control Centre and appeals received at Plate Denial.
Provides detailed explanation of offence/payment histories prior to driver plate renewals
Inputs data on computer terminal daily for processing parking infractions, notices and all court related matters.
Processes and mails Notices of Impending Conviction and Notice of Fine and Due Date.
Processes Ministry of Transportation Update Listing, Outstanding Parking Infraction Register and Certificate Requesting Conviction Register and related forms. Controls and tracks infractions through to Plate Denial.
Assesses when to complete then prepare meter, enforcement, and ticket appeal forms for investigation.
Controls, monitors, and distributes all defective sign reports and enforcement solicitation.
Receives and distributes incoming payments and correspondence received by mail and over the counter.
Performs clerical and data processing duties as required. Maintains all inventory and plate denial records as requirement by provincial legislature.
Sorts, checks, records and files Parking Infractions as well as all notices.
Operates standard office equipment, including personal computer, radio base station, mail opener and sealer machines.
Performs related duties as assigned.

Qualifications: Two year Community College Law and Security Administration, Police Foundations or two year community college in a related field. Experience: Minimum three years to four years in parking related matters and administration. Specialized Training & Licenses:

Minimum of three to four years experience with respect to parking related matters, administration, with working knowledge of the Provincial Offences Act and the regulations thereunder governing Provincial offence administration. Customer service and conflict resolution skills required. Compensation & Other Information: $50,934 - $71,616 (Level 9) This posting is for 1 permanent full-time position being filled on a temporary full-time basis for up to 1 year. Current hours of Work: Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Work Arrangement: Hybrid. Subject to change in accordance with business requirements. These hours of work are subject to change in accordance with the Collective Agreement. NOTE: Applicants may be required to complete a job related test.Police Record Check: The successful candidate will be required to complete a Criminal Record Check.
