Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Articling Student role based in Toronto, ON. The Articling Student will support lawyers with legal research, court attendance, disclosure review and resolution discussions. Daily responsibilities include assisting with drafting, reviewing, and proofreading disclosure, pleadings, correspondence, and other legal documents. The role also involves participating in client file management, attending court, reviewing disclosure. The Articling Student may attend client meetings, Crown Pretrials, hearings, or trials under supervision and will contribute to administrative tasks related to file organization, trial booking, and documentation. The position includes ongoing mentorship, regular feedback, and opportunities to develop practical legal skills. Qualifications Currently enrolled in, or recently graduated from, an accredited law school and eligible to article in Ontario. Strong legal research and writing skills, with the ability to analyze complex information and present it clearly and concisely. Excellent document drafting, editing, and proofreading abilities, with strong attention to detail and accuracy. Effective organizational and time-management skills, including the ability to manage multiple files, meet deadlines, and prioritize tasks. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a professional, client-focused approach and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Proficiency with standard office software (e.g., Microsoft Office) and comfort learning legal practice management tools and document management systems. Demonstrated initiative, reliability, sound judgment, and a commitment to ethical and confidential handling of client information. Interest in business law, litigation, or other relevant practice areas is an asset; prior legal clinic, internship, or co-op experience is beneficial.
