About the Company Our client, a respected boutique law firm with a strong reputation for delivering exceptional legal services is seeking a Litigation Assistant / Law Clerk to support a busy litigation practice.
Responsibilities Manage litigation files from opening through to completion Prepare, revise, and proofread legal correspondence, pleadings, motion materials, and other court documents Coordinate electronic filing of court documents and ensure compliance with applicable deadlines and court rules Schedule examinations for discovery, mediations, hearings, and meetings Maintain lawyers' calendars and monitor key litigation deadlines Communicate professionally with clients, opposing counsel, courts, and third-party service providers Organize and maintain electronic and physical client files Assist with trial and hearing preparation, including document organization and brief preparation Prepare accounts, expense reports, and general administrative documentation Provide day-to-day administrative support to the litigation team
Requirements Previous experience as a Litigation Assistant and/or Law Clerk in Ontario Estates litigation experience is considered a strong asset Candidates with civil or commercial litigation experience are encouraged to apply Solid understanding of Ontario litigation procedures and court processes Experience with electronic court filings Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities Excellent written and verbal communication skills High attention to detail and a proactive, team-oriented approach Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal software
Compensation Competitive salary of up to $80,000, based on experience Hybrid work arrangement (2 days per week in office) Comprehensive benefits package Supportive, collaborative team environment
