Role Description< /strong> The Real Estate Assistant is a full-time, on-site role based in Tecumseh or Kingsville.
In this position, the assistant supports real estate lawyers with day-to-day file management, including preparing and reviewing documents related to purchases, sales, refinances, and transfers. Typical tasks include drafting correspondence, organizing closing documents, coordinating with clients, lenders, and realtors, and maintaining accurate records in firm systems. The role involves scheduling appointments, tracking critical dates, responding to client inquiries, and ensuring that all required information and signatures are collected on time. The assistant works closely with legal professionals to help deliver efficient, detail-oriented service throughout each real estate transaction.
Qualifications Strong Communication and Customer Service skills to interact professionally with clients, colleagues, and external partners. Knowledge of Real Estate processes and terminology, preferably within a legal or conveyancing environment. Administrative Assistance and Organization Skills to manage files, schedules, documentation, and follow-up tasks accurately. Proficiency with office software (e.g., Microsoft Office, document management systems) and comfort learning legal practice tools. High attention to detail, ability to manage multiple deadlines, and commitment to maintaining confidentiality. Prior experience in a law firm or real estate office is an asset; formal training in legal administration or a related field is beneficial. Ability to work collaboratively in an on-site team environment and adapt to evolving processes and priorities.
