About the role

A specialized boutique law firm located in downtown Toronto is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Litigation Legal Assistant to join their team. The successful candidate will provide direct support to a focused and busy litigation practice, working alongside a small team of lawyers in a professional and collegial environment.

Key Responsibilities Draft, prepare, and proofread legal correspondence, pleadings, motions, and court documents Manage and organize litigation files from opening through to resolution Coordinate court filings, service of documents, and monitor critical deadlines Schedule and coordinate proceedings including examinations for discovery, mediations, and hearings Liaise with clients, opposing counsel, and court staff in a professional and timely manner Maintain organized physical and electronic filing systems Prepare and circulate case summaries, chronologies, and other file materials as required Provide general administrative support to the litigation team

Qualifications Minimum 2 years of experience as a Legal Assistant in a litigation environment Solid knowledge of Ontario court procedures and the Rules of Civil Procedure Proficiency with legal software such as PCLaw, Clio, or similar practice management tools Strong written and verbal communication skills with a high degree of accuracy Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and meet firm deadlines High attention to detail and strong organizational skills Legal Assistant diploma or Law Clerk diploma is considered an asset
