What you will do:
As our Bilingual Senior Contracts Specialist, you will be responsible for the consistent management of all contracts and for the oversight of the entire contract management process. You will work closely with in-house Legal, Commercial, Finance, Pricing, and Senior Leadership teams and external customers.
You will have overall responsibility for facilitating redlining, negotiating, maintaining, updating, and renewing all contracts, including obtaining all required internal and external approvals and ensuring execution of final agreements through appropriate signatures, while supporting alignment with commercial objectives and pricing strategies. You must proactively manage deliverables and communicate on an ongoing basis with internal and external business partners about contractual issues or delays. The Stryker contract portfolio requires significant administrative and organizational skills, and knowledge of standard contract language and the ability to do all that is listed, in both French and English is key. You must also serve as a contributing member of the Proposals and Contracts team while championing Stryker’s Mission and Values.
This is a hybrid role and as such, hybrid is defined as the ability to go into the office at least 2 times per week to include every Thursday.
- Oversee the entire contract lifecycle, including drafting, redlines, negotiation, execution, and renewal, while ensuring compliance with company guidelines and regulations, maintaining accurate documentation, and managing policies and processes for commercial contracts.
- Review and action pending contracts and minimizing the number of open contracts or amendments at any point in time. Actively monitor and report contract expiry and collaborate closely with commercial, pricing, and rebates stakeholders to support proactive renewal planning and alignment with customer and business objectives.
- Accurately and timely enter all contract records in Contract management software. Responsible for maintaining and improving the CLM system by designing, managing and refining documents, templates, workflows, and approval, automating steps, overseeing user management, and providing training and change management.
- Support Pricing team in resolving pricing discrepancies, contract terms, value add clarification, and customer qualification issues, while helping ensure alignment between pricing structure and contractual terms.
- Build strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders by actively engaging with them, understanding their unique needs and challenges, providing timely and effective solutions, and consistently delivering exceptional service and support.
- Actively seeks and shares best practices across the department to identify process improvement, standardization, and automation opportunities. Develop and implement standard procedures, work instructions and policies, while also assisting with internal and external audits and promoting industry best practices like Medtech Canada & WCC.
- Key member on strategic initiatives including system enhancements (Power BI, Salesforce.com, Malbek, SAP etc.), and projects that improve contract visibility, reporting, and operational efficiency.
- Contributes to the development, creation, and ongoing maintenance of standard operating procedures and work instructions related to the role.
What you need:
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree is required for this position, however in lieu of a degree an additional 6 years of work experience will be considered.
- 2+ years of professional work experience.
- 2+ years of experience with contract terminology, practices and concepts, with a commitment to staying current with emerging trends in the healthcare industry and assessing their impact on business strategies and both short- and long-term initiatives.
- 2+ years of experience managing a complex, high-volume workload through strong organizational and time management skills, with exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to identify and resolve errors.
- Bilingual proficiency in both written and verbal forms in French and English is required for this position.
Preferred:
- Professional certification in contract management (e.g., CCM Practitioner/Advanced Practitioner) considered an asset
- 1+ years of experience using CLM & ERP, and various Microsoft applications, including advanced skills in Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and Adobe.
- 1+ years of experience of hospital procurement within the Canadian Health Care System, including, regional, provincial, and national group purchasing organizations, to ensure alignment with customer requirements and government-imposed terms & conditions.
- Prior understanding of Stryker product portfolio and the competitive landscape to support strategic contract decisions is preferred.
Canada Pay Ranges:
- Canada: $72,400 - $96,600 CAD Annual
