Responsibilities

Support the processing of voluminous and highly complex requests under the Access to Information Act and the Privacy Act. Conduct detailed reviews of voluminous and complex requests under the Access to Information Act and the Privacy Act. Provide recommendations and advice regarding the exemption or exclusion of sensitive information. Conduct consultations with other federal departments, agencies, other levels of government, and third parties. Coordinate consultations with other federal departments, agencies, other levels of government, and third parties. Prepare section 69 schedules for complex requests. Prepare files for final approval by delegated authorities. Liaise with the offices of the Information and Privacy Commissioners of Canada in the resolution of complaints. Communicate directly with requesters to provide updates on their files. Answer questions that arise during the processing of requests. Support the reduction of backlog cases.

Qualifications

4+ years of experience using AccessPro Case Management, AccessPro Redaction, or other ATIP software. Experience identifying cabinet confidences and preparing consultation schedules for confirmation by Legal Counsel, the Department of Justice, or the Privy Council Office. Experience resolving complaints with the offices of the Information and Privacy Commissioners of Canada. Experience processing environmental or scientific ATIP files. 3+ years of experience working within the Federal Government in a senior ATIP advisor or team lead role, administering complex Access to Information Act and Privacy Act requests.
