About the role

Requisition ID: 268879 Join a purpose driven winning team, committed to results, in an inclusive and high-performing culture.  The Senior Manager, Compliance Programs supports the execution of strategic priorities across Canadian Banking (CB), Global Wealth Management (GWM), International Banking (IB), and Corporate Functions (CF) Compliance Advisory. The role provides strategic planning, performance reporting, and executive support to help drive alignment, informed decision-making, and successful delivery of key Compliance initiatives.   Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:  

Lead the annual planning, coordination, and execution of strategic priorities across CB, GWM, IB, and CF Compliance Advisory. Lead financial planning, forecasting, and budget management activities in partnership with Finance to support effective decision-making and resource allocation. Serve as a trusted advisor to SVP, CB, GWM, IB & CF Compliance Advisory by providing insights and recommendations on strategic and operational priorities to support executive decision-making. Lead and coordinate internal communications, leadership forums, town halls, employee engagement initiatives, and other events that advance strategic priorities and business objectives. Establish and maintain reporting frameworks, performance indicators, and management information to support business objectives. Build and maintain strong relationships across Compliance and key partner groups to drive alignment and facilitate delivery of key initiatives. Monitor progress against priorities and identifies opportunities to improve processes, reporting, efficiency, and team effectiveness. Support the adoption and effective use of tools, processes, and practices that enhance consistency, transparency, and execution across Compliance. Lead and drive a customer focused culture throughout their team to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge. Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions. Create an environment in which their team pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk. Build a high-performance environment and implements a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops and motivates their team by fostering an inclusive work environment and using a coaching mindset and behaviors; communicating vision/values/business strategy; and managing succession and development planning for the team.

  Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed? We’d love to work with you if you have experience with:  

University degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline. 6+ years of experience in financial services, strategy, business management, compliance, risk management, or a related field. Demonstrated ability to build relationships, influence stakeholders, and collaborate across diverse groups. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences, including senior leadership. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to navigate ambiguity and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. Demonstrated curiosity and openness to new technologies, tools, and innovative ways of working, with a focus on continuous improvement and operational effectiveness. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint. Experience working with senior leadership is considered an asset.
