About the role

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Litigation Law Clerk with a minimum of 10+ years of relevant experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently or collaboratively. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact professionally with clients and colleagues are essential.
Key Responsibilities
Draft pleadings and file court documents through the e-Civil filing portal. Prepare, revise, and proofread correspondence and legal documents. Schedule and coordinate examinations, issue notices of examinations, and draft client prep letters. Organize and review client documents, identify missing materials based on pleadings and client-provided information, and prepare Affidavits of Documents. Order transcripts, draft undertaking charts, and assist with providing answers to undertakings. Prepare mediation briefs, pre-trial briefs, and assist with trial preparation, including issuing summons and preparing joint books of documents.
Skills And Qualifications
Completion of a post-secondary program in a relevant field (e.g., Legal Assistant, Law Clerk, Paralegal) with a minimum of 10+ years of experience in commercial litigation. Familiarity with the Rules of Civil Procedure and general court processes. Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to meet tight deadlines under pressure. Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks independently. Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, GhostPractice, ACL. Familiarity with Dropbox, Adobe, Docusign, Zoom, CaseCenter and a willingness to learn new applications. Research experience with CanLii and/or Westlaw is an asset. Strong typing skills (75–80 WPM) and excellent written and verbal communication abilities. Proactive in identifying and addressing urgent issues. Willingness to work occasional overtime when required.
What We Offer
Salary: 85,000-$100,000 based on experience. Hybrid: 3 days in office Comprehensive benefits, including vacation time off after, the probationary period, and discretionary bonus pay based on performance. A supportive and inclusive workplace culture.
