What We Are Looking For:
Aird & Berlis LLP is has an existing vacancy for a Legal Assistant in our Capital Markets group. This position will work alongside another Legal Assistant, to assist with the daily operation, administration and organization of a group busy Capital Markets practices. The successful candidate will possess a positive attitude, be a team player and be able to take initiative and think independently when solving a problem. If you are technically inclined, proactive, and adaptable, this could be a great position for you.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and organize the daily operation of a group of busy lawyers in Capital Markets
- Assist with revising and finalizing various correspondence and documentation
- Blacklining
- Calendar management
- Booking conferences, scheduling meetings & calls, and making travel arrangements
- File opening, conflict checking, and onboarding of clients
- Entering and updating contacts in Interaction
- Administratively manage closings/transactions
- Compiling documents for signature and send to clients
- Compiling Record Books
- Manage duties related to accounting (dockets, billing, wires & expenses)
- Pulling WIPs
- Track deadlines
- Accountable for all work assigned
- Takes initiative
- Confidential
Requirements:
- 2-3 years’ previous experience as a Legal Assistant in Capital Markets or Corporate Law
- Successful completion of a related post-secondary Legal Assistant or Law Clerk program
- Handle time pressure situations and stress of multiple demands
Skills:
- Microsoft 365 suite of applications
- Familiarity with iManage, Kofax Power PDF, MinuteBox and DocuSign
- Knowledge of Workshare Compare or a similar document comparison program
- Ability to problem solve
- Good judgement and decision making
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Organized

Compensation:
- The salary range for this position is $55,000- $65,000 annually; the base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal and market equity.
