Reporting to Senior Legal Counsel, the Litigation & Compliance Law Clerk plays a key role in supporting GTAA’s legal operations, with a primary focus on litigation management, regulatory matters, and corporate compliance reporting. You will work closely with Legal Counsel, external legal partners, regulators, and internal stakeholders to coordinate litigation and dispute matters, support investigations and regulatory responses, and help administer GTAA’s board-level regulatory compliance reporting program. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple time-sensitive matters while contributing to the continuous improvement of legal processes, reporting, and operational effectiveness. As a Litigation and Law Clerk, you will: Support Legal Counsel in the management of litigation and dispute matters handled by external counsel. Coordinate litigation timelines, deliverables, court-related deadlines, and key matter milestones to ensure effective case management. Lead document collection and information gathering efforts across business units to support litigation, investigations, and regulatory matters. Maintain accurate legal matter files, repositories, reporting dashboards, and supporting documentation. Review and process external counsel invoices, monitor legal spend, and contribute to budget tracking and reporting activities. Support responses to regulatory agencies, tribunals, and government bodies by coordinating submissions, materials, and stakeholder inputs. Assist with internal investigations, fact-finding initiatives, and issue escalation processes to support legal and regulatory compliance obligations. Coordinate and support GTAA’s board-level regulatory compliance reporting program, including tracking action items, status updates, and remediation activities. Prepare legal reports, compliance materials, and presentations while ensuring accuracy, consistency, and attention to detail. Contribute to the enhancement of legal operations tools, templates, processes, and internal education initiatives that improve departmental efficiency and effectiveness. This is the role for you, if you have: 5+ years of experience supporting litigation, dispute resolution, regulatory compliance, or legal operations within a corporate, public sector, transportation, infrastructure, or similarly regulated environment. Demonstrated experience managing legal documents, matter files, litigation workflows, and external counsel relationships. Strong knowledge of the litigation lifecycle, legal procedures, and regulatory response processes. Experience coordinating multiple high-volume, time-sensitive matters while managing competing priorities and deadlines. Exceptional attention to detail, proofreading, editing, and written communication skills. Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate across all levels of an organization. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. A post-secondary diploma in Law Clerk or Paralegal Studies, or an equivalent combination of legal education, training, and experience. A Paralegal Licence in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario if acting in a licensed capacity. Experience working in a customer-focused and collaborative environment. Experience with legal research platforms and legal spend management tools is considered an asset. Salary Range: $88,400-$110,500 Please note that the salary range included is a guideline only.
