MLT Aikins is looking for a litigation legal assistant in our Regina pffice. This is a permanent full-time position, with hours of work from 8-4 p.m. This position will be responsible for providing administrative and clerical support for lawyers in the Regina office.

Our ideal candidate is self-motivated, highly organized, has superior computer proofreading and time management skills, excellent interpersonal and communication skills and is able to work independently, follow instructions with minimal supervision and is able to thrive in a fast-paced, professional team environment.

Responsibilities include:

  • Performing complex editing and formatting for correspondence and documents
  • Preparing various administrative tasks including file opening, billing, and follow-up to review outstanding accounts
  • Following instructions with minimal supervision and be able to thrive in a fast-paced, professional team environment
  • Maintaining an efficient file system (physical and electronic files), having strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Providing a client focused approach and commitment to exceptional service for both internal and external clients
  • Preparing court materials such as application records, books of authorities, appeal records and appeal books

Qualifications Include:

  • Advanced computer skills including Word, Excel, Outlook, and document management software
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must have proof reading, writing, spelling and grammar skills
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in an active litigation practice
  • Graduate of a recognized Legal Assistant Program (equivalencies will be considered)
