THE OPPORTUNITY

Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, the HRBP will work proactively and collaboratively with stakeholders to provide strategic HR advice and business solutions that are grounded in HR best practice and aligned with the operational and strategic goals of LAS. You will use your expertise to lead the recruitment process and provide leadership and guidance for a full range of HR services in a fast paced, public, unionized environment.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Manage full cycle recruitment process in conjunction with the Legal Directors

Act as a resource to management for CBA interpretation & administration of policies and procedures

Provide advice on attendance management, accommodation requests and performance management

Interact regularly with LAS staff, actively listen to their needs and recommend actions that align with the HR strategy/policies/programs

Assist with the development of bargaining plan strategies, proposals, and costing

Support payroll and benefits administration using time and attendance software

Under the direction of the Director of HR, participate in the employee investigation & grievance process

ABOUT YOU

You have a real roll-up-your-sleeves type of attitude and are solution focused

You have a university degree in Business Administration or Commerce specializing in Human Resources

You have over five years of progressive HR generalist & labor relations experience

You are adept at communicating with a diverse group of stakeholders, both internal and external

You are technologically savvy and have a keen enthusiasm for learning new systems

You are a strategic thinker who can make good decisions under pressure and can anticipate upcoming opportunities and challenges in human resources

You are able to balance multiple priorities and deliver high quality work while working independently

COMPENSATION

Salary in the range of $70,538 – 85,748 per annum, based on experience

Comprehensive benefits package inclusive of a pension plan

Generous leave provisions (vacation, sick time, earned day offs)
