Job Summary

Provides administrative support to legal department. Conduct legal searches, and prepare reports and court documentation.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Create databases, maintain templates, draft letters, memos, and legal documents.
  • Input dockets, maintain electronic filing system and update hard copy lists.
  • Conduct electronic searches.
  • Register by-laws and other documents.
  • Maintain electronic calendars, schedule conferences, courses, communicate meeting dates and locations.
  • Update and maintain records of outside legal fees paid, budget etc. for legal services and make appropriate payments.
  • Order supplies.
  • Comply with relevant City policies.
  • Provide ad hoc assistance on projects/initiatives within the unit/team.
  • Use information that is stored within the unit/team and/or available without special authorization.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Post‑secondary legal administrative training
  • A minimum of 3 to 5 years legal administrative experience.
  • Advanced computer software knowledge.
  • May require some light lifting of supplies/materials.
  • Prolonged exposure to computer keyboards and screens. Primarily office environment.


Hourly Rate/Salary: $ 54,721.00 - $ 72,964.00
